Inspired by bringing awareness and action to the democratic freedoms of people everywhere, especially his native Cuba, Ricardo Pau-Llosa is a Renaissance Man. With reaches into an intellect that spans the arts, Pau-Llosa has several volumes of poetry to his credit – with one reaping a Pulitzer nomination. The Miami of the Poet was Pau-Llosa’s 2010 collaborative effort with photographer James Gersing. Also in 2010, several of Pau-Llosa’s Latin American works were on display at the Snite Museum of Art, University of Notre Dame, where he was also invited to lecture. And amongst his latest projects, Pau-Llosa has been championing the work of The Guild, a group of eight local painters he discovered and has since ushered into Miami’s art consciousness.

ArteAmericas is the premier Latin American art fair that takes place annually, in March, at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Now a decade old, each year several North America and Latin American galleries representing artists – painters, sculptors, multimedia artists – are housed under one roof.
