What do you believe makes a quality article of clothing?
Exceptional cut and fabric
Do you consider yourself an artist?
I do. I think as a designer you have to push yourself to invent new ways of reinventing fashion. And so you look into other mediums to inspire your creativity.
W hat matters to you most as a fashion designer?
That you are respected for your talent. And what I mean by that is to truly understand the process it took to create that one fabulous piece.
What are your favorite colors to work with and why?
Well quite frankly in my mind I always design everything in black that to me is the king of all colors. Everything looks great in black it’s severe, sexy, architectural, romantic and best of all classic. However I am known to design many of my collections in bold, bright colors as well.
What are your favorite fabrics to work with and why?
I love all fabrics because they all influence me in many different directions. I think it depends more if I am designing evening and the mood of that collection… if its fluid or structured then I start to dissect the options. If it’s ready to wear I try to look for durable travel friendly fabrics that can take you day to night

I would have to say the couture European designers from the past like Valentino, Saint Laurent, Ferre, Lacroix, Dior, Lanvin, Givenchy and Chanel. I love the elegance and sophistication their clothes would speak

After work, hanging out with my boys (including my husband) whether its dinner or just watching tv. We are a close knit family I love that!!
