Bracelets for Life

[ 0 ] July 15, 2010 | SunPost

Last year while traveling in Africa, Kristen Kenney nearly died from malaria. She survived, but thousands of children around her did not. She had the $10 it cost to pay for the antibiotics necessary to save her. Most of the parents of the children who died, could not pay the $10.  Kenney came back to Miami a changed woman, determined to raise the money needed to treat those kids in need. Alaika For Life was born, an initiative that saves lives and empowers communities one bracelet at a time. Every bracelet purchased online provides medication for a child to survive malaria and an income for the woman who makes it. To date, Alaika For Life has supplied eight clinics and three hospitals with medication to save over 8,000 lives.  To buy your bracelet and help save a kids life go online to www.malaikaforlife.org.
