Irie’s Artist Related

Formed back in ’05 when Irie saw a “disconnect between quality and professional DJs and clients who were in need of their services,” Artist Related has become the kinda boutique agency powerhouses are made from. Among the 15 DJs (and counting) currently on Artist Related’s heavy hitting roster are Knowledge, Chino, Omi, Supersede, Sandman, Vertigo and Miguel G, all of whom will be in rotation for the Saturday portion of this coming Irie Weekend. In addition to the aforementioned, AR reps everyone from DJs Erok and M Dot, to A-Train and 360, not to mention Bianca G and Jessica Who (the last of whom will be sharing the decks with Irie at LIV this Friday night).

But since Irie’s perhaps the most connected man in Miami, DJs are now just one part of AR’s ever-expanding universe. Yep, you guessed it, his agency has also added celebrities to its roster. Thus far the firm has placed Tommie Lee, T Pain, Jermaine Dupri, Chris Brown and Tres Songz, among others. And with another whirlwind tour supporting Jamie Foxx on tap and a continuing parade of bold-faced names lining up to ally themselves with the superstar DJ, well, it’s cinch there will be more of those People kinda people coming up under the AR banner.

Nevertheless it’s the spin that Artist Related was built upon, and it’ll be the spin that remains its core. Like the city he so benevolently supports, the St. Croix born, MIA-raised DJ is not one to forget his roots – nor to neglect them.

“I’ve devoted my life to making people dance,” said the veteran mixmaster. “And I’m not about to stop now, whether it’s me or one of mine in the booth making it happen.”

And if the amount of action DJ Irie and his Artist Related agency gets is any indication, the world is not about to let him stop either.
